Glass fiber reinforced plastic is a composite material with glass fiber and its products (glass cloth, tape, felt, yarn, etc.) as the reinforcing material and synthetic resin as the matrix material. Fiber-reinforced composites are composed of reinforcing fibers and a matrix. The diameter of the fibers (or whiskers) is very small, generally below 10μm, and the matrix is much lower in strength and modulus compared to the fibers, but can withstand large strains, often with viscoelasticity and elastoplasticity, and is a ductile material.
