Introduction & Application:
Alloy zinc powder is mainly used in haydrometallurgy of zinc, chemical industry, metallurgy, dye, electroplating, alloy, die casting and other industries, such as used as the main reducing agent in the production of electrolytic zinc, sodium hydrosulfite, lithopone, rongalite, zinc carbonate, zinc sulfate, zinc chloride and dye intermediate products.
Molecular Formula: Zn
Molecular Weight: 65.38
Physical Property:
Zinc powder is the powder of metallic zinc, with color of dark grey and globular molecular structure. The specific weight is 7.14 g/cm3, the melting point is 419 ℃ and the boiling point is 907 ℃.
Chemical Property:
Zinc powder is insoluble in water, but soluble in acid, alkali and ammonia water.
Zinc powder has strong reducibility and can produce hydrogen when reacting with acid and alkali.
Zinc powder burns and explodes very easily. It produces blue flame when burning in hot air and produces zinc oxide. • Its stable in dry air and zinc powder in large quantity can burn in wet air; • it may explode when it flies in the air and meets spark, and the permissible density in air is 15mg/m3.
Zinc powder cakes easily when affected by damp, and produces white subcarbonate which covers the surface in damp air.
Zinc powder with high purity reacts slowly with sulfuric acid and nitric acid, and the reaction speeds up when it contains other metal such as steel, tin and lead.
