Prepaid Solutions


The World wide demand for prepaid products is increasing, weather this is electricity meters, water meters, cellular phones etc. As a member of the Inepro Group we have a long history in payment and registration technology. The development of electricity kWh meters with smart cards was a small step. Do we have now only a single and a three phase meters available in our range with contact chip cards, later this year we will implement a contact less chip card as well.

With the delivery of prepaid kWh meters to the Bayelsa State in Nigeria we introduced the first step of simple and easy to operate prepaid meters. Later the SBEE in Benin followed as well as Ethiopia National Electric Energy Utilities, Peru Electric Energy Utilities, Ghana Electric Energy Utilities and sales to Italy, England and Caribbean.

The prepaid kWh meters series are divided in 2 basic models DCM and RCM. The next 2 pages will introduce the 2 series to you in more detail.

Besides kWh meters we also have prepaid water meters. The idea is basically the same. You buy credits either at the office of the of the utility or at local sales shops. You place the card in to the meter and the credits are transferred from the card to the total remaining credits in the meter. Once your credits are reduced to zero the valve (water meter) or the relays (kWh meter) will close and the user is disconnected from the source. Reloading the meter will open the valve/relays and connect the user without having an engineer coming on location.

The DCM/RCM series are equipped with a so called anti FRAUD protection. If the user wants to open the meter and/or remove the protection cover an internal contact is activated and the meter will switch the relays so the electricity is switched OFF. In the display the text HELP7 is indicated. The user now has to call the utility and with a special service card the FRAUD mode can be reset. The remaining electricity from before the FRAUD detection is still available for use and the user is re-connected.

Because the prepaid meters are working with software many applications can be programmed on your wishes.
