香茅油又称香草油或雄刈萱油。由香茅的全草经蒸汽蒸馏而得。淡黄色液

体。有浓郁的山椒香气。主要成分是香茅醛、香叶醇和香茅醇。用于提取

香茅醛，供合成羟基香茅醛、香叶醇和薄荷脑。也可用作杀虫剂、驱蚊药

和皂用香料。




 





香茅油可直接提取



香茅醛、香茅醇和香叶醇，也是这三种香料最主要的天然来源。一般爪哇

种香茅油含香茅醛35-40%，香茅醇20-25%，香叶醇15-20%，乙酸香茅酯

和乙酸香叶酯约5%。由于香茅醇与香叶醇的沸点较为接近，而且都是玫瑰

花香气，所以天然的香茅醇总是含有不少的香叶醇，而天然的香叶醇也总

是带着较多的香茅醇。直接用精馏法提取香茅醛留下的部分有人就把它当

作“粗玫瑰醇”出售，可用于配制一些中低档的日用香精特别是熏香香精
