Plastic type
The disposable lunch box made of plastic mainly includes PP polypropylene and PS polystyrene, which are non-toxic, tasteless and odorless. PP is relatively soft. Generally, the service temperature of PP is - 6 ℃ to + 120 ℃, so it is especially suitable for holding hot meals and hot dishes. It can be heated in microwave oven, or even boiled in steam cabinet. The service temperature of modified PP can be controlled within -From 18 ° C to + 110 ° C, the lunch box made of this PP can be used not only by heating to 100 ° C, but also by refrigerating.
PS is hard and transparent, but easy to tear. PS starts to soften when the temperature reaches 75 ℃, so it is not suitable for hot meals and hot dishes. But PS has a good low temperature performance and is the best packaging material for ice cream.
In order to reduce the cost, some lunch box factories use PP as the box and PS as the box cover. The advantage is that the cover is transparent and PS is relatively hard, which can be made of thin sheet materials to reduce the cost. However, consumers must understand the difference between the two materials in this design, and remember not to put the whole lunch box with the cover into the microwave oven for heating.
