It can be used for wet granulation as well as direct compression by dry method.
It has some lubrication and disintegration action so is very useful in tablet preparation.

In the food industry, Microcrystalline cellulose used as a texturizer, an anti-caking agent, a fat substitute, an emulsifier, an extender, and a bulking agent in food production.The most common form is used in vitamin supplements or tablets.
