Iron Dextran Injection is a sterile solution containing ferric hydroxide in complex with a low molecular weight dextran fraction equivalent to 100mg elemental iron per ml with 0.5% phenol as a preservative. It is important to note that AdvaCare's iron dextran injection is for veterinary purposes only, and altho' there are types similar medications for human use, you should only use medications prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.
Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of iron dextran injection. Always consult a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for medical advice before use. Side effects that may occur are clinically characterized by prostration with muscular weakness in pigs. In severe cases, death may occur.
