Bitter kola is a plant medicine common among Africans, it is a flowering plant found in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest of Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Benin republic. It can be used to cure cough, bacteria or viral infection and anticancer, it also have benefits for relieving food poison, diarrhea or stomach upset. The name bitter kola came from the bitter astringent and resinous taste which is followed by a slight sweetness from chewing the kola.
