The Algiante/CMC Wound Dressing is a sterile non-woven alginate/CMC wound dressing consisting of alginate mixing with carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). The Alginate/CMC wound dressing is highly absorbe nt con formable and wet integral. As wound exudate is absorbed the alginate/CMC forms a gelz which assists in maintaining a moist environment for optimal wound healing, aids autolytic debridement, and allows in tact removal.
The device is an absorbent wound dressing made from sodium alginate and CMC by processes of Wet Spinning, Carding, Cutting and Packagi ng.
